WAVERLY, Iowa (March 12, 2021) - The Buena Vista track & field teams wrapped up the opening day of the DIII Elite Indoor Championships on Friday inside of Hoover Fieldhouse on the Wartburg College campus.

The Beavers had just a handful of individuals competing on the opening day.  Senior Emily Hoesing placed eighth in a tough 5,000m field with a time of 18:22.03.  Katara Jondle and Kaitlynn Nielsen each set personal best marks in the 200 and finished in the top-10 of the race.

On the men's side Jackson Sylvester improved his best time in the 400 meter dash by nearly two seconds, crossing the finish line in 51.62.  Kyle Miller also ran a personal best in the mile at 4:35.04.

The two teams will wrap up the indoor season with the final day of the championships on Saturday.  Field events will get the day started at 10:00 a.m.
