Vermillion, S. D. (May 6, 2022) - The Buena Vista University Track and Field Team headed to South Dakota to take part in the USD Twilight meet. This was a tune-up meet as the BVU Track and Field team prepares for the conference meet next week.
Starting off in the field for the Women's team was Senior Rebecca Simpson. She took 2
nd in the javelin with a throw of 42.35m and 7
th in the hammer throw with a throw of 53.82m. Teammates Anna Brennan and
Anna Friedrichsen also had great performances with each bringing in a 10
th place finish in the javelin throw and discus throw respectively.
Heading over to the track,
Jadyn Forbes took 5
th place in the 400 with a season-best time of 1:00.72. In the 400m hurdles, both
Tabitha Guyett and
Iris Lindgren got themselves season-best as well.Â
Latrice Hodges also got a season-best time as she crossed the finish line for the 800m in 2:25.20.
On the men's side in the Javelin, Nick Moorshead captured 6
th place with a season-best throw of 41.64 meters. Throwing teammate
Lane Jellison also brought home 6
th place in the shot put with a throw of 15.63.
Junior
Jadon Micke took 4
th place with a great time in 200m coming across the finish line at 22.03.
Kyle Miller hit a good season debut mark in the open 400m dash with a time of 51.11. Lastly, the mid-distance crew had a great day with seven of their runners hitting under 2:07 today in the 800m with Senior
Cameron Kaltschnee leading the way with a time of 2:02.12.
The Buena Vista University Track and Field teams look to hit the road to Dubuque next week for the three-day A-R-C Conference Championship meet. The team looks to end their season strong and have some impressive times on the track and field.
