STORM LAKE, Iowa (March 11, 2021) - The Buena Vista University indoor track & field teams will be sending select individuals and events to compete at the DIII Elite Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend on the campus of Wartburg College.  The two-day event will take place on Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13.

This event was added as a replacement opportunity due to the cancellation of this year's NCAA DIII Indoor Championships.  The top-16 individuals and the top-12 relay teams have been invited to compete.

On the women's side, the Beavers will feature Kylie Johnston (60m), Katar Jondle (200m), Jadyn Forbes (800m), Emily Hoesing (3,000m & 5,000m), Qiana Roderick (3,000m), Jessica Sump (60m hurdles, long jump), Ashley Telleen (60m hurdles), Madison Trimpe (shot put), and Becca Simpson, Michaela Karels and Anna Friedrichsen in the weight throw.  Wren Klump will also compete in the pentathlon.

Over on the men's side, the Beavers will have Christian St. Romain (60m), Spencer Hunt (200m), Jackson Sylvester (200m, 400m), Myle Miller (mile), Zackary Huffman and Dylan Reimer (60m hurdles), Joe Fisher (pole vault), Lane Jellison (shot put, weight throw), Isaiah Thomas (long jump) and Max Powers (pentahlon).

Both teams are coming off last weekend's American Rivers Conference Indoor Championships where the women finished seventh and the men came in eighth.

Competition will get underway inside of Hoover Fieldhouse on the Wartburg campus on Friday at 10:00 a.m.
