STORM LAKE, Iowa (February 9, 2021) - The Buena Vista men's basketball team will play its third straight road contest on Wednesday night when the team travels back to the eastern side of the state to play at Coe College.

SERIES HISTORY 
Buena Vista leads the all-time series between the two teams, 34-15, but has dropped three straight to the Kohawks...Coe won both meetings a year ago by a combined 15 points, including an 81-72 win in Cedar Rapids on Feb. 15, 2020...BVU's last victory in the series was a 74-65 victory in Storm Lake Nov. 28, 2018...the last four meetings have been decided by less than 10 points.

LAST TIME OUT 
The Beavers picked up their third straight victory on Sunday afternoon with a convincing 89-74 non-conference win at Concordia-Chicago.  It was a season-high in points for the team which also shot a season-best 55.7 percent from the field.  Senior Michael Demers scored a season-high 26 points with Garrett Sittner adding 18 points and five assists while making 4-of-7 from downtown.

ABOUT THE KOHAWKS

The Kohawks will be looking to bounce back from a narrow 74-68 road loss at Central on Saturday.  The loss came after the team had captured consecutive victories over both Wartburg and Simpson.  It began its season with a 10-point loss at Northern Iowa before suffering a 15-point setback to the University of Dubuque on January 27.  For the year, the Kohawks are averaging 76.8ppg but opponents come in also scoring 77.5ppg.  The team is shooting nearly 47.0 percent from the field and averaging 7.5 three-point buckets per contest.  Jarad Kruse has helped lead the way with 16.0ppg and 11.0rpg with Cael Schmitt turning in 13.5ppg and has dished out a team-high 19 assists.

ABOUT THE BEAVERS 
BVU has won a season-high three straight games (all by double digits), including the last two on the road.  Since suffering its only loss of the year at home to Loras (89-73) on Feb.1, the team has picked up consecutive conference wins over Nebraska Wesleyan (76-64) and Luther College (79-58), respectively.  The team is averaging 81.2ppg and shooting 46.5 percent from the field.  It is starting to heat up from long range and is leading the A-R-C with 11.5 makes per contest.  Sittner has 15 makes to lead a trio players who have made at least 10.  Six players have made at least six.   Ball control has been a strong point for the team thus far, averaging only 12.3 turnovers per game and leading the league with 20.2 assists per game.
