STORM LAKE, Iowa (February 6, 2021)- An impressive performance by BVU men’s basketball as they roll past Luther 79-58 on Saturday, February 6. The road win moved the Beavers to 4-1 on the season and in the A-R-C.

The team was hot from the start as they were ignited by a three-pointer from senior Michael Demers. In the first minute of the game, the score stayed close at 3 all. From there, it was all BVU. Within the first five minutes of the game, the Beavers jumped out to a 18-4 lead.

Several BVU players were electric behind the arc as the team tallied up nine treys in the first half. With all of BVU’s success, the Norse struggled to get their shots to fall. At halftime, the Beavers had scored a staggering 50 points over Luther who only had 16 points to show for their first 20 minutes of play.

The second half started to look better for Luther as they slowly reduced BVU’s lead, but their efforts could not stop the Beavers from continuing their near lights out performance. Through the end of the game, more of the BVU bench got to see playing time, giving the younger players experience and the starters a rest before their next road game the following day.

Michael Demers and Garrett Sittner each scored in double-digits for the team with 18 points and 13 points, respectively. The team shot 39.7 percent from the field and were 36.8 percent from long range with 14 three-pointers. BVU’s bench contributed 33 points to the win. Aaron Blumberg led the Norse with 12 points.

BVU men’s basketball will play tomorrow, February 7, in River Forest, Illinois as they face Concordia-Chicago. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
