SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 22nd all-time meeting between Nebraska Wesleyan and BVU, with the Beavers trailing in the series 15-6. Most of the last few matchups have a history of being high scoring and closely contested ball games. During their last meeting, BVU came out of the gates quickly, leading 43-42 at halftime against the 9th ranked Prairie Wolves. A strong second half by Nebraska Wesleyan eventually put the Beavers away 97-80. The series has been relatively back-and-forth for the majority of the last half of the decade, so one might expect another shootout when the teams take the floor.

ABOUT THE PRAIRIE WOLVES
Wednesday's matchup will be the Prairie Wolves' first time taking the court this season as they look to start off their season with a win while playing their first conference game. As a team in 2019-20, Nebraska Wesleyan averaged around 86 points per game, shooting over 50 percent from the field and just about 37 percent from behind the arc. While this is impressive, it will be interesting to see how they fare with losing the majority of their production to graduation. Â All five of their starters a season ago were seniors, as well as the next two off the bench. Expect early production to come in the form of Junior Peyton Priest and Sophomore Connor Riekenberg.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
Buena Vista lost the first game at home this season against Loras College Monday, Feb. 1. The Beavers' 89-73 defeat was highlighted by another strong showing by freshman guard
Zane Neubaum. Neubaum scored a team high 14 points, shooting 6-of-11 from the field. Fellow freshman
Michael Santich followed up with a career-high 12 points while hitting 4 long range shots from deep.
Michael Demers,
Garrett Sittner and
Jake Thompson all scored 11 points to give all of the Beavers' starters double digits.
Jake Thompson proved to be the defensive anchor for the team, hauling in six rebounds and swatting away two shots during the contest.
