DUBUQUE, Iowa (February 20, 2021) - The Buena Vista men's indoor track & field team captured multiple individual titles on Saturday while competing against both College and the University of Dubuque as the Spartans hosted the UD Triangular.
Jordan Micke crossed first in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 51.69.
Garrett Bates was victorious for the third straight week in the pole vault, clearing a season-best 4.20 meters.
Cameron Kaltschnee ran a huge personal-best time of 16:10.33 in the 5,000-meter run to take second. The time also puts him sixth on the program's all-time list. BVU took three of the top-seven spots in the 55-meter hurdles, led by
Dylan Reimer at 8.38 seconds.
The 4x400 relay team ran to a thrilling runner-up finish just behind the host Spartans. The time was just off the team's season-best mark set in the season opener.
Lane Jellison was second in the weight throw and fourth in the shot put.
As a team, the Beavers totaled 67 points and was just one point behind the Kohawks. The Spartans won the team race with 144 points. BVU is scheduled to return to action next Saturday at the Central College Triangular and compete against both the Dutch and Loras College.
