BVU Men Complete 2-0 Week with 64-48 Road Win at Luther

Box Score DECORAH, Iowa (December 11, 2021) - Three starters scored in double figures, led by a game-high 16 points from sophomore Zane Neubaum, and the Buena Vista men's basketball team completed its perfect week with a 64-46 road victory at Luther College on Saturday afternoon.

Neubaum finished 6-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-5, from long range as BVU made 10 long range buckets in a game for just the second time this season.  The Beavers were 10-of-31 from beyond the arc as six different players made at least one.  Demers was 3-of-8 from the field overall but was aided by his 7-of-8 performance at the charity stripe.  He also grabbed six rebounds and recorded two steals.  Thompson made a pair from downtown and was 5-of-9 from the field overall to score 13 points to go along with his four assists.

The Beavers shot under 35 percent from the field overall despite going 8-of-16 from distance in the first half.  The team cooled off a bit over the final 20 minutes, making just 2-of-15 from beyond the arc and shooting only 25.8 percent from the field in the period.

Twenty-four of BVU's 37 first half points came from long range as the Beavers built a 37-18 halftime cushion.  The lead grew to as much as 25 early in the second half before Luther chipped away at the lead down the stretch.

Buena Vista is now 4-7 on the year (2-2 A-R-C).  The team is now off until taking part in the Johns Hopkins Tournament on Dec. 29-30 out in Baltimore, Md.  The Beavers will open against Montclair State on Dec. 29 at 6:00 p.m. (CST).
