STORM LAKE, Iowa (February 19, 2020) - Playing in her final career home game, senior Destiny Einerwold turned in a team-high 15 points while sophomore Nicole Lange and freshman Vanessa Hamlett added 11 points each off the bench, but it wasn't quite enough on Wednesday night against Central College as the Dutch pulled away late for a 77-58 American Rivers Conference victory.

Einerwold, who came in ranked ninth in Division III in free-throw makes this season (120), added to that total by going 7-of-9 at the stripe.  Hamlett scored five of her 11 at the line as the Beavers went 20-of-26 overall.  Junior Erin Gerke chipped in with 12 points to go along with three assists and matching a career-high with six steals.

The Dutch held a slim 16-12 lead after the first quarter and doubled that margin at 33-25 going into the half.  They then pushed the lead to 12 early in the third quarter before the Beavers began chipping away and using an 11-2 run to get as close as 41-38 following a Gerke trey.  Back-to-back buckets by Lange to end the period kept BVU within 47-42 heading to the final frame.

Buena Vista was held to just two points over the first three minutes of the fourth, and Central took advantage with an 11-2 surge of its own to go up 58-44.  The Beavers, who were held to 2-of-14 from the field in the period, got no closer than 12 the rest of the way.  The Beavers did most of their scoring in the quarter at the line, going 12-of-15.

Kendall Brown turned in a game-high 23 points to go along with five rebounds and five blocks to help lead Central (15-10, 7-9 A-R-C).  Kelsea Hurley followed with 20 points ,

BVU held the Dutch to just 2-of-14 from downtown, but couldn't slow them down enough around the basket as Central finished the game shooting 53 percent from the floor overall.

Buena Vista will wrap up its season on Saturday afternoon at Simpson College.  Tip-off against the Storm is set for 2 p.m.
