Box Score STORM LAKE - Monmouth scored  just minutes into the contest on Sunday afternoon before adding two more goals later in the half to take a 3-0 lead, as the Fighting Scots (2-0-1) held off the Buena Vista women's soccer team, 4-1, in a non-conference match-up.

Sophomore Madison Field scored her first goal of the year when she drilled a shot from out in front of the goal to the back corner of the net in the final six minutes of regulation.  The Scots led 3-0 at the half before each team traded goals over the final 45 minutes.

BVU was held to only one other shot-on-goal in the contest and were out-shot overall 25-4.  McKeely Tjaden played all 90 minutes in-goal for the Beavers and registered nine saves.

The loss moves Buena Vista to 1-3 on the year, and they will look to end the three-game skid on Tuesday, September 10 at home against Northwestern College (IA) in a 6:00 p.m. start.
