CHICAGO, Ill. (November 23, 2019) - Elmhurst used a 14-2 run in the third quarter to erase an eight-point Beaver lead, and the Bluejays then outscored BV 16-9 in the fourth en route to a 70-60 non-conference victory on Saturday afternoon to close out the North Park Thanksgiving Classic.

Destiny Einerwold just minutes into the second half gave BVU a 43-35 lead. Elmhurst then went on a 10-2 spurt to tie the game at 45-45 with 5:38 remaining before taking a 54-51 lead to the fourth. It was still a four-point contest with under four minutes to play before the Bluejays closed the game on a 9-3 run.
Einerwold finished 3-of-4 from long range and scored a team-high 13 points.Â
Jennifer Schneider and
Nicole Lange each turned in nine points with Schneider also pulling down six rebounds.Â
Erin Gerke chipped in with eight points, four assists and three steals.
The Beavers shot just 32 percent from the field overall while making 16-of-21 at the free-throw line.
Joceyln Jacob scored a game-high 20 points to help lead Elmhurst, which improved to 3-2 with the win. Four players were in double figures overall as the team shot 45 perecent overall.
BVU (1-4) will now prepare itself for American Rivers Conference play which begins on Tuesday, November 26, with the team hosting Coe College at 5:30 p.m. The game will also be the first regular season home game for the Beavers.
