STORM LAKE - The Buena Vista men's basketball team has dropped three of its last four games by four points or less, and they will look to end that losing skid on Wednesday night when it entertains Simpson College inside of Siebens Fieldhouse at 8:00 p.m.

Inside the Series - The Storm ended a five-game losing streak to the Beavers by picking up an 81-67 victory back on December 5, 2018, down in Indianola.  BVU has won seven straight meetings in Storm Lake with its last loss to Simpson inside of Siebens Fieldhouse coming back on January 4, 2012 (68-64).  The two teams first met back in 1921-22 with the Storm picking up a 22-12 victory.  

About Simpson - The Storm have dropped three straight games entering Wednesday night, including an 84-75 loss to Coe College, despite a big 36-point performance from Conor Riordan.  Riordan is the team's leading scorer and ranks seventh during American Rivers Conference play averaging 17.1 points per game.  Kyle Wagner and Adam Reiter are both averaging just under 15.0ppg against conference foes with Wagner averaging over 2.5 three-point makes and shooting 51.2 percent from downtown.  As a team, Simpson is averaging 81.1 points per contest during league play and is fourth in three-point percentage at 37.7 percent.

About Buena Vista - The Beavers have dropped four straight games overall, including three which have been decided by four points or less.  It is coming off a tough 75-74 home loss to Loras College on Monday night where neither team led by more than nine points.  Timothy Jeffries scored a team-high 15 points in the contest and continues to lead the team overall this season at 13.1 points per game.  Overall, the team is averaging just over 78 points per contest, but has been held to just 31 percent shooting from long range against conference opponents (compared to 36 percent overall).  The team has made more than 10 three-point treys just once over the last six games after making at least double-digits in six of the first seven contests of the year.  Robert Hawkins is also averaging double figures at 10.0ppg with DJ McNeal close behind at 9.4ppg.
