About Wartburg - The Knights have won two of their first three games coming out of the holiday break. Their last outing was a hard-fought 89-73 road loss at top-ranked Nebraska Wesleyan. Cam Kickbush registered a team-high 27 points in that contest marking just the second time this season he has led the team in points. Jaran Sabus has held that role the majority of the year and enters the contest averaging a team-high 21.7 points per contest. Nearly one-third of that average comes at the free-throw line where he has made 94 shots on the year and is shooting 81 percent. Kickbush is right behind at 15.5 points per game and does nearly all of his damage from downtown where he has made 52 on the year. He's also second in steals with 18. Max Smith Drahos is the third player to average double figures in scoring at 11.5 while leading the way in steals (31). As a team, the Knights are shooting 49 percent from the field and better than 37 percent from long distance. They've also made it to the charity stripe 73 more times than their opponents.

About Buena Vista - The Beavers look to bounce back this week after dropping a pair of narrow contests on the road last week. Central rallied late and held off BVU 77-73 on Wednesday before the University of Dubuque did the same on Saturday by a score of 55-52. BVU is averaging 71 points per game against conference foes this season while shooting 45.6 percent from the field. It has struggled a bit more from long range during American Rivers play, shooting just 30 percent compared to 36.5 percent in all games. Timothy Jeffries leads the team in scoring at 13.7ppg with Robert Hawkins close behind at 10.7ppg. The team has eight players averaging over 6.0ppg this season. Connor Winkelman is one of three with at least 20 three-point makes on the year and is shooting a team-best 52.9 percent from beyond the arc. Michael Demers is next with 23 makes while Jeffries has chimed in with 20. As a team, the Beavers rank fourth during conference play in both field goal shooting and field goal percent defense. The team is also third in steals and right in the middle of the pack in assists per game.
