The Buena Vista baseball team traveled up to U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn., on Thursday for an evening doubleheader against Bethel University, but it was the Royals scoring runs in the end of both games to complete the sweep of BVU by scores of 5-3 and 13-1.

It was a pitcher's duel in the opener with Bethel scoring a pair of runs early on and held that same lead until plating three in the seventh.  The Beavers made things interesting in their last at-bat, rallying with three runs of their own and getting the tying run to the plate but came up short.  

Bethel jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the nightcap and broke things wide open with 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 13-0 lead.  BVU plated its only run in the top of the seventh, but it was not near enough.

Buena Vista sits at 0-5 on the year and is off until March 15 when it begins its string of seven games over eight days down in Tucson, Ariz., for its annual Spring Break trip.
