Pivotal Stretch of Home Matches for Beaver Volleyball

Box Score

The Buena Vista volleyball team has won 11 straight home matches and 23 of its last 28 inside of Siebens Fieldhouse, and it hopes that streak continues through the next week as it gets set to play three pivotal American Rivers Conference home contests that will largely impact the outcome of this year's conference race.

BVU is currently tied for third at 3-2 with both Coe and Luther - the two teams it will square off with these next two nights.  The three teams sit one game back of Dubuque (4-1) and one game back in the loss column to Wartburg (6-1).  The Beavers and Knights take the court opposite each other on Tuesday night.

The Beavers are coming off a thrilling five-set non-conference road victory on Wednesday night up north at Bethany Lutheran College.  The team has played consecutive five-set matches overall, going 1-1.  The last time the team took the court inside of Siebens Fieldhouse (September 25), it picked up a monster five-set come-from-behind victory over Simpson College after having dropped the first two sets.

Buena Vista has finished third three times since 2014.  It remains in the hunt to claim its first-ever conference regular season championship.  The team was picked to finish seventh in this year's preseason poll, and despite a roster of just eight players, it finds itself right in the mix for a high finish.  The team needs just one win over the final three to at least secure a bid into the conference tournament.

Friday night's match-up with the Kohawks is set for 7:00 p.m. while Saturday's contest with the Norse will begin at 3:30 p.m.  Live Video and Live Stats links for all three matches can be found at bvuathletics.com.
