Simpson Rallies to Hand BVU First IIAC Loss of the Year

Buena Vista came out and took the opening set, 25-20, bu it Simpson came back with a in the second, and after a Beaver win in the third, it was Simpson coming out on top of the last two, including a narrow 15-12 victory in the decisive fifth set.

The Beavers had their best inning frame in set one, recording 17 kills and a .297 attack percentage.  The team was then held to just nine in the second as the Storm came out on top, 25-19.  BVU regained the 2-1 lead after getting a thrilling 26-24 victory in the third,  but with only 16 combined kills over the final two sets, it was BVU falling in both by scores of 25-18 and 15-12.

Senior Jade Schaap turned in 18 kills and 16 digs to help lead the way for BVU with Jamie Navinskey close behind with a season-high 14 kills, seven digs and four block assists.

Summer Goss dished out 32 assists to go along with 11 digs while Mackenzie Gropel added 17 assists and five digs.  Kylie Roe had 15 digs and two of the team's four ace serves.

Buena Vista dips to 6-7 overall (1-1 IIAC).  The Beavers will now take part in the annual Crossover, hosted by Central College this year, beginning with a match against Lakeland on Friday at 3:00pm.
