Box Score The Buena Vista volleyball team couldn't keep its strong offensive start to Iowa Conference play going on Friday night as the Beavers posted a .098 attack percentage as a team in a 3-0 loss to Wartburg College.
In a rematch of last year's Iowa Conference Tournament Championship match, the Beavers had eight kills and seven errors in a 25-13 loss in the opening set. From there, BVU had 17 more hitting errors during sets two and three combined as it fell, 25-19 and 25-13.
Senior Maddie Bardole was solid in a losing effort, going for 10 kills and only two errors while also posting eight digs. Junior Jade Schaap registered a match-high 15 kills, but also had nine errors. She fell one dig shy of another double-double.
Kylie Roe dished out a team-leading 17 assists as Ashey Pelton added 15. Senior Sydnee Donnelli tallied a team-best 10 digs.
BVU entered the match 11-3 over their last 14 home matches.
Lizzy Blough and Aryn Jones each had seven kills to help lead the Knights, who won for the eighth straight time this season.
Buena Vista is now 11-9 on the year (2-1 IIAC) and will have a quick turn-around before hosting Luther College on Saturday morning at 11:00am. The Norse had their 11-match overall win streak snapped Friday at Nebraska Wesleyan in four sets.
