Volleyball Dops First Two Matches at IIAC/NACC Crossover

The Buena Vista volleyball was swept twice on Friday night in both matches played during the IIAC/NACC Crossover hosted by Wartburg College.

BVU faced Lakeland College early in the afternoon, and after a strong offensive night on Wednesday in its IIAC opener, the Beavers strugged in this match, posting a .099 attack percentage.

Jade Schaap was the one bright spot with a match-high 12 kills against just three errors and a .321 attack percentage.  She also turned in nine digs.

Victoria Leffler had six kills and a pair of block assists while Maddie Bardole was held to only four kills but did tally a team-leading 12 digs.

BVU then ran into a tough Concordia (Wis.) team in its final match, falling by scored of 25-21, 25-18, 25-20.

Bardole and Jamie Navinskey each turned in six kills to help lead an offense which had only a .028 attack percentage.  Bardole also added 11 digs and a pair of block assists.

Sydnee Donnelli chalked up a team-leading 17 digs, defensively, while Kylie Roe chipped in with 11 assists and 12 digs.

Buena Vista is 9-7 overall and will look to finish the two-day crossover event on a winning note when it takes on Edgewood on Saturday morning at 10:00am before facing Dominican (Ill.) at 2:00pm.
