Volleyball Improves to 8-3 with Win over St. Olaf

Box Score

After dropping the opening set to St. Olaf, 25-21, the Buena Vista volleyball team began to find its groove, and the Beavers battled back to pick up their third straight win overall with a 3-1 win on Friday night to begin the Wartburg College Invite.

Neither team played well offensively in that opening set as each was held to under a .100 attack percentage.  They were both even in the second, but the Beavers took control in the third with a stellar .407 mark compared to St. Olaf's .081.

Junior Jade Schaap led all players by matching a season-high with 18 kills.  She had only six errors on 39 swings and was over a .300 percentage for the sixth time in 11 matches this season.  She also added 10 digs en route to her third double-double of the year.

Senior Maddie Bardole was one kill shy of a double-double as she turned in nine kills and 13 digs.  Ashley Felton dished out 26 assists while Kylie Roe chipped in with 19.  Sydnee Donnelli posted a team-best 16 digs.

The win was the team's sixth in its last seven overall as it takes the floor on Saturday for matches against Saint Benedict (10am) and Augsburg (12pm).
