The Buena Vista women's soccer team was on the road to close out its 2016 season on Tuesday evening and looking to do it on a winning note, but Simpson College (2-11-3, 1-6 IIAC) scored a pair of second half goals to put the game away and hand the Beavers a tough 3-0 defeat.

The Storm led 1-0 at the half after scoring an early goal in the 17'.  Six of BVU's 10 shots in the contest were on-goal, but the Beavers couldn't find the back of the net.

The match remained tied until midway through the second half when the Storm added a key insurance goal before a third early in the 80' made it 3-0.

Caroline Maher and Samantha Arnold each had two shots with both of Arnold's on-goal.

Rachel Novotny went the distance in-goal and recorded 10 saves.

Buena Vista ends its season at 3-13-1 (0-8 IIAC).  The match was also the final outing in the careers of seniors, Arnold, Tricia Schwartz and Naomi Wood.
