Box Score The Buena Vista volleyball team picked up a first set win on the road at Central College on Tuesday night, but the Beavers saw the host Dutch come all the way back to win the next three sets to take the pivotal Iowa Conference matchup, 3-1.
BVU jumped out to a 25-20 victory in the opening set despite getting just nine kills. Central, however, came back with 25-17 and 25-19 wins over the next two sets before scoring three of the final four points of the fourth set to complete the match with a 25-23 triumph.
The Beavers struggled a bit offensively with 33 total attack errors and being held to a .055 attack percentage.
Junior Jade Schaap helped lead the way with 16 kills and 12 digs while Maddie Bardole just missed out on another double double with nine kills and 16 digs.
Ashley Pelton dished out 23 assists with Kylie Roe adding 10.
Ali Grein had five kills and a team-high four block assists.
Jenna Dille led Central (10-9, 4-2 IIAC) with 13 kills and just one error to go along with four block assists.
The Beavers, who are trying to keep their IIAC Tournament chances alive, fall to 12-12 overall (3-4 IIAC). Their final league contest comes at home next Friday night, October 21, against Coe College (16-8, 4-2 IIAC).
