It was a defensive battle for most of the contest, but Wartburg was able to strike through 13 minutes into the second half to edge the Buena Vista women's soccer team 1-0 on Saturday inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium.

Wartburg outshot BVU, 20-0, in the contest, but it was the strong defensive pressure by the Beavers that allowed them to keep pace.

Alexis Burnett registered 10 saves in the contest, including six in the second half.

Buena Vista is 3-6-1 overall (0-2 IIAC) and is back in action on Wednesday night, October 5, for a 5:30pm home contest against Nebraska Wesleyan.  It will also be Pink Out Night for the Beavers.
