Box Score The Buena Vista volleyball team returned to Iowa Conference play on Tuesday night on the road at Simpson College, and the Beavers were in control from the start, taking the match in three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-9 and 25-18.
BVU appeared to find its groove offensively right out of the gate, and the team finished the match with only eight attack errors and an attack percentage of .331.
Sophomore Jade Schaap led all players with 12 kills and a .308 percentage and becomes only the sixth player in program history to surpass 800 career kills. She went on to register her eighth double-double of the year by adding 14 digs and came up big at the net with four block assists, giving her an even 100 in her career.
Junior Maddie Bardole contiues her torrid offensive streak by following with 10 kills and just one error. She now has 1,253 kills in her career, moving her within 18 of second-place on the program's all-time list. In addition, she had two of the team's 10 service aces which move her into sole possession of second-place on the program's all-time list.
Nevada Meis chipped in with six kills and four block assists, while Victoria Leffler added four kills and two block assists.
Sophomore Laura Barry dished out 30 more assists and moves within 54 of 2,000 in her career.
Defensively, the Beavers who entered the match ranked in the top-half among the league leaders in opponent's attack percentage, held the Storm to a .059 mark for the night.
BVU has now won back-to-back IIAC matches and improve to 12-7 overall (2-1 IIAC). The team returns to action on Friday night for a key league showdown at Luther College (13-6, 3-0 IIAC). BVU can move into a tie atop the conference standings with a win, as the Norse will enter as the lone remaining unbeaten team in IIAC play.
Friday's match in Decorah is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm.
