BVU threatended in the fifth with runners at first and third and only one out, but the Storm were able to convert an inning-ending doubleplay.
The Beavers got a lead-off hit in the seventh, but stranded the runner at second to end the game.

That's the way things stood until the fifth when Simpson extended the lead to 3-0 on a fielder's choice with one out.
BVU then took advantage of a pair of Simpson miscues, defensively, in the seventh scoring a pair of runs on a throwing error by the catcher before an RBI double from Tanner Truesdell tied things at 3-3.
Simpson regained the lead in the ninth, getting an RBI single following a lead-off double, but stranded the bases loaded.
BVU then forced extra innings after Bennett Mann's one-out sacrifice fly to right center field.
The Beavers left two runners on in each of the next three innings before finally coming through in the 13th inning. Truesdell singled to lead off the inning before advancing to second on Mann's sacrifice bunt. Bryce Wessels then roped an RBI double to right center to score Truesdell and send BVU onto victory.
The first six hitters in the BVU line-up all finished with multiple hits and combined for 12 of the team's 16 overall. Wessels was among that group as he finished with three doubles.
Kendall Hazel came on in relief to earn the win and improve to 2-2 on the year. He came on to start the 13th inning, taking over for Lucas Hadaway who had worked the previous three.
Lange pitched seven innings, allowing just two earned runs on five hits, while striking out seven and walking three.
Ian Grigbsy then surrendered a run over two innings before Hadaway allowed just one hit and struck out four over his three frames.
Buena Vista now sits at 18-9 overall (8-8 IIAC), while the Storm are 7-20 (3-13 IIAC). The two teams will look to close out the weekend series on Saturday morning. First pitch of game one has been moved up to 9:00am with an unsettled weather forceast expected for most of the day.
