For the first time in her career, Buena Vista libero Sydnee Donnelli has been tabbed as the Iowa Conference Volleyball Defensive Performer of the Week for the period ending November 1.

Donnelli posted a pair of solid defensive efforts, including a career and match-high 34 digs during BVU's tough 3-2 IIAC road loss at Wartburg last Tuesday night.  That total was the highest by any conference player during an IIAC match this season.

She then followed that up with 12 more digs and a pair of ace serves against Bethany Lutheran last Friday, as the Beavers cruised to a 3-0 non-confernece road win to wrap up the regular season.

Donnelli is the first Beaver to land defensive honors since Jordan Henningsen did so on October 19 of last season.

Donnelli will look to keep her stellar defensive play going as Buena Vista (17-15) begins Iowa Conference Tournament play tonight.  The third-seed Beavers play host to sixth-seed Dubuque (17-17) at 7:00pm inside of Siebens Fieldhouse.
