Box Score Jade Schaap and Maddie Bardole each had 12 kills to lead a stellar offensive attack by Buena Vista on Friday night, as the Beavers wrapped up regular season play with a commanding 3-0 sweep at Bethany Lutheran.
The high-flying duo committed only six hitting errors on 48 combined attempts, as no other Beaver had more than five kills. As a team, BVU finished with an attack percentage of .386, while recording only 10 errors.
Sophomore Laura Barry dished out 34 more assists and becomes only the third player in school history to reach 2,500 career assists. She also had two of the team's six ace serves to go along with five digs.
Sydnee Donnelli turned in a team-high 10 digs, as BVU didn't allow the Vikings to really gain much momentum all night.
BVU came out strong with 11 kills and only two errors on 18 total attempts in the first set en route to a commanding 25-11 victory. The Vikings, meanwhile, had nine attack errors and only four kills.
The Beavers continued their torrid offensive attack in the second set with 19 kills and only four errors, while holding BLC to just eight kills, en route to a 25-21 victory. The team then wrapped up the sweep with 12 kills on 27 attempts while cruising to a 25-15 triumph.
With the win, Buena Vista improves to 17-15 overall and will now prepare for next week's Iowa Confernece Tournament. BVU, the third seed, will play host to sixth-seed Dubuque on Tuesday night, November 3 at 7:00pm inside of Siebens Fieldhouse.
