Box Score Coe College score a goal less than a minute into the match before adding a second early in the second half en route to a 2-0 victory over the Buena Vista women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.
The Kohawks (12-1-1, 2-1-0 IIAC) got on the board just 53 seconds into the match on a shot that went off the post and got past Beaver keeper Rachel Novotny for a 1-0 lead.
Despite being outshot, 16-7, the Beaver defense kept the Kohawks off the board for the rest of the half, as it was a one-goal match at halftime.
Coe doubled its lead nine minutes into the second half on a long lead pass that was then kicked past Novotny.
BVU was held to only five-shots on-goal in the match, including two from sophomore Caroline Maher.
Novotny saved eight shots and has allowed two or fewer goals in all but one match this season.
Buena Vista falls to 3-9 overall (0-3 IIAC) and now returns home to host Wartburg College on Wednesday, October 14 at 4:30pm.
