Men's Soccer Handed Tough 2-0 Loss by the Dutch

After a scoreless first half, Central College went on to score twice over the final 45 minutes on Saturday afternoon, and the Buena Vista men's soccer team just couldn't find the back of the net despite seven shots on-goal, en route to a 2-0 loss.

Kwame Antwi had a team-high four shots to help lead BVU offensively, while Steve Gutschenritter added three (all on-goal).  Juan Rosales also had three shots (two on-goal).

Central (4-10, 2-3 IIAC) scored the match's first goal during the 59' and later added the final one of the day during the 66'.

The Dutch held a slim 14-13 edge in total shots, while the Beavers had three more shots on-goal (7-4).

Matt Tennyson was tough in-goal for BVU, despite the loss, as he allowed just two goals and also posted two saves.

Buena Vista is now 4-10-1 (0-5 IIAC) and will now play a non-conference road match at Concordia-Moorhead on Tuesday, October 21 beginning at 2:00pm.
