Women's Soccer Handed 7-1 Loss by Nebraska Wesleyan

Box Score

Sam Richards put the Buena Vista women's soccer team on the board late in the first half, but the Beavers couldn't overcome an early 4-0 deficit en route to a 7-1 setback at Nebraska Wesleyan on Wednesday night.

The Prarie Wolves grabbed a 2-0 lead 10 minutes into the match before goals during the 34' and 39', respectively made it 4-0.  Richards broke the shutout with five minutes to go in the half off a free kick.

NWU, which out-shot the Beavers 18-1 in the contest, added three more goals during the second half to secure the non-conference victory.

Anna Houghton and Tricia Schwartz split time in goal for BVU, with Houghton tallying five saves.

Buena Vista is now 1-2 on the year and looks to bounce back on Sunday afternoon when the team travels to Grinnell College for a 2:00pm contest.
