Flames Pull Away in Second Half of 6-0 Victory over Beavers

Box Score

The Buena Vista women's soccer team was held to only six total shots on Wednesday afternoon, as the College of St. Mary scored three goals in each half of a 6-0 non-conference victory over the Beavers inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium.

CSM got on the board 18 minutes into the contest before adding the second goal just three minutes later.  The Flames made it a three-goal game at the half with a goal during the 40th minute.

St. Mary posted 10 shots in the first half before out-shooting BVU, 18-2, over the final 45 minutes.

After an early goal in the second half pushed the margin to 4-0, CSM added a pair of goals over the final nine minutes for the final score.

Naomi Wood turned in a team-leading three shots for the Beavers, while Jordan Flynn, Sharon Feld and Sarah Kensinger each added one.

Abby Zach, who entered the match with nine goals for the Flames (8-2), added three more to that total.

Buena Vista is now 2-7 overall and will begin Iowa Conference play this Saturday afternoon at Luther College.  Start time against the Norse is slated for 3:00pm.
