Simpson Rallies Late to Edge Women's Soccer, 3-2

Box Score

Simpson College scored twice in the span of a minute late in the second half to come back and top the Buena Vista women's soccer team on Saturday evening, 3-2.

The Storm broke a scoreless game midway through the second half before Sharon Feld turned in her first goal of the year to tie things up at 1-1 early in the 71st minute.  Sophomore Tori Carson then scored her 22nd career goal to give BVU their first lead of the night late in the 82nd minute.

That lead proved to be short-lived, however, as Simpson came back seconds later to even the score at 2-2.  Nearly two minutes later, Simpson, which was out-shot, 19-16 by the Beavers in the contest, retook the lead for good.

Carson took seven shots, including five on-goal to help pace the Beavers, offensively, with Sam Richards following with six shots and five on-goal.

Tricia Schwartz went the distance in-goal for BVU, and did tally nine saves.

Buena Vista is now 2-10 overall (0-3 IIAC) and will return to action again on Tuesday night for a 5:00pm non-confernece match at Bethany Lutheran College.
