Cobbers Turn in Second Half Goal to Edge Beavers, 1-0

The Buena Vista men's soccer team closed out its 2013 home schedule on Monday night by hosting Concordia-Moorhead, but it was the Cobbers finding the back of the net 10 minutes into the second half to edge the Beavers, 1-0.

The Cobbers posted 19 shots in the contest, but only had six on-goal.  BVU was held to only seven total shots, including two on-goal.

Kwame Antwi and Luis Salazar each turned in two of those shots to help lead BVU offensively with one of those from Salazar also coming on-goal.

Dami Adegunle broke the scoreless tie early in the 56th minute for the Cobbers (5-9-1).  Both defenses were strong throughout with only nine combined shots in the second half.

Jordan Balster suffers the hard-luck loss for BVU, going the distance in-goal, allowing just the one goal and posting five saves.

Buena Vista is now 4-12 overall, and the team will now close out the regular season with a pair of Iowa Conference road contests beginning this Saturday afternoon at the University of Dubuque. Start time against the Spartans is scheduled for 6:30pm.
