The Buena Vista women's tennis team played a pair of home matches on Saturday and came away with two wins, including a key 7-2 Iowa Conference triumph over Loras College (0-11, 0-5 IIAC).

Against the Duhawks, the Beavers took control early on, as Liz Heffernan and Kelli Kroepel picked up their third doubles win of the year, 8-1. Amanda Kavan and Kassidy Ipsen improved to 2-2 with an 8-4 triumph.

BVU didn't stop there, winning five singles matches in straight sets, as it secured the win which moved the team into fifth place in the league standings.

The day wrapped up with a commanding 9-0 victory over Bethany Lutheran. After taking all three doubles matches, the team won five of the six singles matches in straight sets.

Buena Vista evens its record at 4-4 overall (2-3 IIAC) and will host Sioux Falls College on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm before traveling to Luther College on Saturday for a 12:00pm contest.
