Sevond Cole begins his sixth year as head coach for the Beaverwrestling team in 2013-14.

During his tenure, Cole has coached five national qualifiers andone conference runner-up, as well as one regional runner-up.

He returned to the mat at Buena Vista as an assistant in 2007-08after a one-year absence. Cole had been an assistant for theBeavers from 2001-2006. He spent the 2006-07 year as a volunteerwrestling coach and a middle school science instructor in theGriswold School District.

Following graduation from BVU in 2001, Cole went on to serve asan assistant coach with the Beavers while also teaching fifth grademath and science in the Storm Lake School District.

Prior to joining the BVU staff in 2001, Cole was a two-timeAll-American for the Beavers (1999 and 2000) under legendary coachAl Baxter at 174 pounds. He also captured a conference championshipin 1999, while being tabbed a Scholar All-American in 2000.
