Kelsey Resnick begins his fourth season as head men's soccer coach in the fall of 2026.
Over his first three seasons guiding the team, Resnick has coached the program's first all-conference selection in nearly a decade along with one honorable mention selection. The team's nine overall wins in 2024 were the highest for the program in the previous 12 years. His players are also getting the job done in the classroom as he has also coached 21 academic all-conference honorees.
Resnick joined BVU as an assistant coach for the 2021 season. He arrived on campus from semi-pro side, Portland City Futsal Club, where he served as head coach. Prior to that, Resnick spent five seasons as a volunteer assistant coach with the men’s and women’s programs at Hiram College.
In addition to coaching at the collegiate level, Resnick was head coach of the boys team at Hudson High School. In 2014, he was named Suburban League Coach of the Year after leading the Explorers to a conference championship and berth in the Elite Eight of the state tournament.
Resnick also served as a staff coach for Everest Soccer Club, helping coach boys and girls premier level teams.
A 2009 graduate of Hiram College, Resnick played four seasons for the Terriers, starting all 74 matches and serving as captain for three years. A three-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) selection, Resnick guided the Terriers to the program’s first NCAC Tournament appearance, was named Academic All-Ohio twice, and earned NSCAA / Adidas Men’s Scholar All-Region (Great Lakes) honors as a senior.
Resnick earned his bachelor’s degree in Communication with minors in History and Management from Hiram College in 2009 and his law degree from the University of Akron in 2012.
Resnick and his wife, Laura, reside in Storm Lake with their two children, Luca and Francesca.
