Joe McLain joins the football coaching staff in 2018 and will serve as the team's offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.

McLain was a receivers coach at his alma mater, Chadron State College (Neb.) from 2012-15 and was quarterback coach and offensive coordinator at Chadron (Neb.) High School from 2010-11.  He served as quarterback coach at Douglas (Wyo.) High School when the team captured a state championship in 2009. During his playing days at Chadron, he was a two-time team MVP, named the league offensive player of the year and a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy.  The team captured three undefeated conference titles and made three playoff appearances.

Prior to arriving at BVU, he had served two years as a shift manager for Reinhart Foods where he oversaw more than 60 warehouse works and was in charge of performance standards and meeting the companies expectations.

McLain received his bachelor of science degree in math education (7-12) from Chadron State in May of 2010. While there he also earned his coaching endorsement before going on and receiving his master's degree in organizational management - sports management in May of 2012.
