Bob O'Hara begins his third year as the head women's tennis coach in the fall of 2017.

O'Hara brought 30 years of coaching to BVU when he began his duties in 2015.  For the 16 years prior to coming to BVU, he'd been the head girls' tennis coach for Spirit Lake-Okoboji (SL-O) where he compiled a career record of 201-28 (.880). Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach at Spencer High School from 1985-1999.

During his career at SL-O, he has twice been named an all-state coach (2013; NHSACA & 2014; NFHS).  He has coached 54 First Team all-conference players, 44 state meet qualifiers and 29 state meet placewinners.  Of that group, 13 placed in the top-four of the state meet.  More impressively as a team, the program has clinched at least a share of the Lakes Conference Tournament Championship for the last 15 years and has won 13 Lakes Conference dual-meet championships overall.  In addition, 11 of his teams have placed in the top-eight of the state tournament, including the 2004 state runner-up team.  That year also saw SL-O capture the state champion doubles team.

O'Hara and his wife, Shelly, own and operate Speed Printers in Spencer and will continue to do so.  They have two sons, Jack and Tom.
