Austin Dickinson is set to begin his sixth season on the coaching staff in 2017 at his alma mater and is primarily in charge of the defensive line.

In 2015, Dickinson helped coach a defensive line that had three individuals ranked in the top-15 in sacks during IIAC play.

Austin spent his first two season on staff assisting with coaching one of the top offensive lines in the conference.  BVU had the league's top passing game and was among the leaders in rushing and fewest sacks allowed.

He made the switch over to coaching the defensive line beginning in 2014 and coached a group of players that combined for 15 sacks on the year and 37.5 tackles for a loss.

Dickinson was a four-year letterwinner while playing defensive tackle for the Beavers from 2006-09, registering 123 total tackles, including 14 for a loss.  He tallied a career-high 45 stops as a senior, while chalking up a career-best 6.5 for a loss as a junior when the team finished 7-3 overall.

After graduating in the spring of 2010 with a degree in sports management, Dickinson went on to serve two years as an assistant with the Minot State University program, working with the offensive line and tight ends.

Austin, a native of Woodbine, and his wife, Whitney, reside in Storm Lake.
