Biography

About Kirsten: Is the daughter of William and Tara...Her mother played both volleyball and basketball at Grand View University.

High School Highlights: Was a three-year letterwinner for the Knights and a two-time All-Hawkeye 10 selection. She was part of two conference championships teams as well as a state qualifying team as a sophomore in 2008. She was named to the Omaha World Herald All-Regional First Team as a junior and was an Honorable Mention All-State selection. In addition to volleyball, Kirsten also lettered three years in softball and one year in both track and golf. Aside from athletics, she was listed on the Honor Roll and was a Hawkeye 10 All-Academic selection.

College Highlights:
2012: Led the team in kills for the second straight season, totaling 311, to go along with a hitting percentage of .216 which ranked second.  Her 38 ace serves also led the way.  Defensively, she was third in digs (171) and in total blocks (46).  Her 3.05 kills/set average was fourth-highest in the league, as was her 0.37 ace serves/set.  Following the year, she was tabbed Honorable Mention All-IIAC.

2011: Became one of the team''s biggest threats at the net as a freshman, earning her first career letter. She posted 353 kills – the eighth-best single-season total in team history. Her 2.8 kills/set was second on the team. She had a pair of 20-plus kill performances, including a career-high 21 against Carleton. Defensively, she had nine matches with six digs and finished the year with 117 digs, to go along with 49 total blocks.
