About Jade: Is the daughter of Ivan Schaap and Dawn den Hoed...has one brother, Tyler, as well as three sisters, Brandee, Shannon and Jewell.
High School Highlights: As a senior in 2013, she totaled 278 kills (2.46/set) and posted an overall hitting percentage of .336. She also averaged 0.27 blocks/set and was part of a Class 2A State Tournament Runner-up team. Following the season, she was voted First Team All-Lakes Conference and Second Team All-State in Class 2A by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association (IGCA). She was also an IGCA Northwest All-District Team selection and was selected to play in the IGCA Senior Classic All-Star game.
As a junior in 2012, she also played for a State Tournament runner-up team and was an Honorable Mention All-State, First Team All-Conference, as well as an All-District selection.
As a sophomore in 2011, she played on her first State Tournament runner-up team and was an Honorable Mention All-State selection by the IGCA.
College Highlights:
2017: Named to All-Tournament Team at Kathryne Pals Legacy Invite (9/1-2)...Named All-Tournament Team at Prairie Wolf Invite (9/8-9)...Set school record for four-set match with 29 kills against Grinnell on 9/14/17...Named to All-Tournament at Knight''s Classic (9/15-16).
2015: She would play in all 34 matches and 132 games this season for the beavers. She would lead the team in kills (516), 5th in assists (30), 4th in aces (22), 3rd in digs (388), and 3rd in total blocks (63). Against UW-Riverfalls she would have a season high 29 points including 27 kills, 3 assists, 13 digs, and 1 block. She would be named an All-IIAC performer, 1st Team all region, and Honorable mention All-Amercian.
2014: Jade turned in a stellar freshman campaign that saw her go on and earn IIAC Freshman of the Year accolades. She finished the year ranked second on the team overall with a school freshman record 549 kills. She was also fourth in servcies aces (42), third in digs (387) and third in total blocks (67). On a national level, she ranked 27th in kills and points per set and was eigth in total kills and 13th in total attacks. She led the IIAC during conference play with 4.07 kills/set and was ninth in digs/set (3.31). She turned in 22 kills and 16 digs during a five-set loss at nationally ranked Washington University (Mo.) in her second career match and had seven matches on the year with at least 20 kills. She set a career-high with 30 kills during the team''s 3-2 win against Luther while adding 18 digs. Her match against Gustavus Adolphus was one of the team''s best all-around performances of the year when she turned in 24 kills and added a career-high 27 digs. In addition to her all-conference accolades, she was also tabbed an Honorable Mention All-Region performer.
