About Chelsea: Is the daughter of Earnest and Paula...has one brother, Earnie, as well as three sisters, Egypt, Asha, and Victoria. Her father played football at Arkansas State.
High School Highlights: Was a three-time letterwinner in volleyball for the Wildcats where she was a three-time all-conference selection. During both her junior and senior seasons, she was named All-District and All-State. She played on a state tournament qualifying team as a junior and was part of the 2009 State Runner-Up Team as a senior, while being named Team Captain of the All-Tournament Team as well as being voted as Player of the Year.
In addition to volleyball, she was a four-year letterwinner in basketball and a three-time letterwinner in track. On the court, she was a four-year all-conference selection and an All-State selection as a junior and senior. She was also named MVP of the All-Star Game following her senior campaign. On the track, she was a three-time Drake Relays participant.
Aside from athletics, she was a member of the National Honor Society for three years and was listed on the Gold Honor Roll.
College Highlights:
2013: Played in all 29 matches for the team this season and finished second on the team with 344 kills and led the way with 86 total blocks. She wraps up her career ranked sixth all-time with 615 kills and tied for fourth with 183 blocks. She ranked third in the Iowa Conference averaging 3.16 kills per set this season while sitting fourth in blocks per set at 0.71. She turned in a career-best 23 kills against Aurora on September 27 and turned in a season-best eight total blocks against Carleton College on October 12.
2012: Played in all 32 matches and set career-highs in every offensive and defensive category. She finished second on the team in kills, and her 2.82 kills/set ranked fifth in the Iowa Conference. She also tallied 30 ace serves - a total that was also second-highest on the team. Defensively, she totaled a team-leading 88 blocks and ranked fourth in the league, averaging 0.86 per set. She turned in a career-high 20 kills in a match against Walforf College and a career-best 10 blocks late in the season against Monmouth College. Following the year, she was named to the Academic All-IIAC Team.
2011: Appeared in seven sets and turned in a career-high 28 kills and 16 total blocks.
2010: She made an appearance in 10 matches for the Beavers during her freshman campaign. In those 10, she recorded eight kills and five digs with eight total blocks.
