Mauricio Lozada

Mauricio Lozada begins his third season as the head coach of Buena Vista University women's soccer in the fall of 2025.

The program has continued to build a foundation of success under Lozada. In its first season in 2023, BVU posted its highest goal total since 2017. A year later in 2024, the program chalked up its highest single-season win total in 12 years, captured its first conference win since 2013 and had one Honorable Mention All-Conference selection.

Lozada has also led a group that is finding success off of the field with a cumulative total of 20 academic all-conference selections and 11 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees in his first two years.

Prior to leading the Beavers, Lozada spent two seasons as a men's assistant soccer coach at Bethany Lutheran College. He also spent five seasons as an assistant women's and men's coach at St. Olaf College (2014-2018). In 2021, the Vikings went 13-1 during conference play and captured the league's regular season title. Lozada helped coach four all-conference players, including the league's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.

In addition to his coaching duties at the collegiate ranks, Lozada spent nearly 10 years at the club levels during that same time. Since 2021, he has been the 11-14U Group Director for Tonka United and has also spent time with FC Boulder, Lakeville Soccer Club and Park Valley United.

Lozada earned his undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 2013. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Sports Management from Concordia University-St. Paul.
