  • Title
    Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Katie Daniel-Voortmann has been hired as a full-time assistant for the Buena Vista women's soccer program beginning in the fall of 2026.

Daniel-Voortmann, who is a 2020 graduate of BVU, has served the last three years as a volunteer coach with the program and is in her fourth year serving as head girls soccer coach at Storm Lake High School. The Mason City, Iowa, native, was a goalkeeper for the Beavers from 2016-19 and logged nearly 1,000 career minutes in-goal and made 75 career saves. She notched her only career victory as a junior which resulted in a shutout.

"I'm ready to embark on this new journey," says Voortmann. "Buena Vista has given me life-changing experiences ever since I attended college and played soccer there starting in 2016. There is a special bond between everyone who decides to be a Beaver, and I'm excited to be able to continue to build these relationships as the assistant women's soccer coach. Having played in the program and volunteered the last several seasons, I feel like I bring a unique experience which can only help our athletes grow as soccer players but also young women. This opportunity also gives me the chance to become a better coach while challenging me to step outside of my comfort zone. I'm excited for the upcoming season and hope to be part of pushing the team to new heights."

Voortmann is married to 2021 BVU graduate and men's soccer alum, Jarrod Daniel. The couple resides in Storm Lake.
