Peyton Renning joins the softball coaching staff for his first season in 2020.
Renning, a 2019 graduate of Buena Vista and a native of Carroll, Iowa, was a four-year member of the Beaver baseball team from 2016-19. He started all 126 games over his final three campaigns and earned all-conference accolades the final two. He began his career as the starting left fielder before moving over to centerfield his senior year.
For his career, Renning hit .322 overall with 158 hits, 35 doubles, nine triples and 79 RBI. He posted a career-high 62 hits as a senior which was just outside the top-10 in single-season history. The total was fourth-best among all conference leaders. His 14 doubles were tied for the conference lead and his three triples tied for fourth.
Renning was a part of four conference tournament teams, including a 2019 A-R-C Tournament championship. The Beavers then earned the automatic berth into the NCAA Central Regional Tournament.
In addition to his play on the field for the Beavers, Renning was also a member of the Storm Lake Whitecaps summer league team in 2018.
Renning is employed by Community Education in Storm Lake.
