About Layne: Is the son of Doug and Mindi...has one brother, Meade.

High School Highlights: Was a three-year letterwinner for the Badgers where he went on to earn all-conference accolades as well as Honorable Mention All-State honors.  He was also an All-District performer and served as a team captain.

In addition to football, he lettered four years in wrestling and was a four-time state qualifier and a two-time state medalist.  He served as a team captain as both a junior and senior.  He also earned a varsity letter all four years in track where he was a state qualifier in two events.

Aside from athletics, he earned Academic All-State recognition in wrestling.

College Highlights:
2014: He saw limited time in the secondary for BVU during his freshman campaign.  He did register three total tackles and one pass breakups.  His first career stop came against UW-Platteville in the team''s season opener on September 6.
