Biography

About Derek:  Is the son of Jon and Maria...has one brother, Jacob.

High School Highlights:  Was a three-year letterwinner in football for Coaches Kyle Oswald and Brad Cave and played on a State Championship team as a senior in 2012.  He was a three-time academic all-conference performer (2010-12) and was academic all-state as a senior.  In addition to football, he also lettered three times in track and one year in basketball.

Aside from athletics, he was listed on the Honor Roll, was Class Valedictorian and was listed as a top-10 student in academics by the Des Moines Register
