Mike Adams will begin his third season on the BVU football coaching staff in 2023 and has taken over as the defensive coordinator. He joined the Beaver football staff as an offensive line coach beginning in the fall of 2021.
In his first campaign, Adams helped coach an offensive line that anchored the conference's third-leading offense in scoring, rushing and passing. He also coached on all-conference offensive lineman.
Adams, a Storm Lake native, is a 2016 graduate of BVU with a degree in Physical Education and Coaching and was a member of the Beaver football team as an offensive lineman in 2013 and 2014. He then continued as a student assistant coach for the program in 2015.
Adams spent the last five years before returning to his alma mater as an assistant football coach at multiple high schools in the state of Georgia. During that time span, he has helped coach multiple future NFL draft picks, three national award semi-finalists and multiple all-region and all-state players.
The collegiate coaching for Adams began in the fall of 2016 when he began as a volunteer assistant at Georgia Southern University while working toward his master's degree in Kinesiology with a Coaching Emphasis which he earned in May of 2017. He most recently served as the defensive coordinator at Effingham County High School in 2020 and has also spent time as a Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach at Bradwell Institute High School.
Adams and his wife, Deni, have one son, Wayne.
