Darius Savage joined the Beaver football coaching staff for his first season in 2017 and currently serves as the team's offensive line coach.

Over the last three seasons, Savage has helped build an offensive line that has seen BVU move from ninth to fourth in total offense, including a 10.0ypg increase in rushing yards per game.  Since 2017, he's also helped coach a pair of honorable mention all-conference players.

Savage finished the 2017 IFL (Indoor Football League) Season as a member of the Nebraska Danger Offensive and Defensive Line.  He enjoyed a career that took him to multiple Arena Football Leagues as well as CFL and NFL tryouts as an offensive lineman.  Savage was a two-year starter on the offensive line for UCLA where he received his bachelor’s degree in History.  He was also an All-American thrower for the Bruin track & field team while at UCLA. As a junior, he tossed a lifetime best 61' 0.25" in the indoor shot put to earn the honors before heaving the discus a lifetime best distance of 200' 5.0" outdoors.

Savage has also served as the OL/DL coach at his high school alma mater; Morse High School in San Diego, as well as serving as an assistant coach for Hastings College while in Nebraska.
