Alex Johnson joined the Beaver football coaching staff in March 2023 as offensive coordinator. In the fall of 2024, he will make the transition to the other side of the ball and begin his first season as the program's defensive coordinator.
Johnson has strong ties to the region after spending his three years prior to coming BVU at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, serving as the co-defensive coordinator with additional stops at both Minnesota State-Mankato (2018-19) and Hamline University (2017).
With Mankato State, Johnson coached four All-NSIC performers as well as one All-Super Region performer. His team was a 2018 national semifinalist and the 2019 national runners-up.
He is a 2014 graduate of Marquette University with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.
