About Tyson: Is the son of Brian and Denise...has one sister, Heather...is dad played college baseball at Ellsworth CC.
High School Highlights: Tyson earned a varsity letter in both baseball and football as a senior, as the Hawks were Class 4-A state champions on the diamond. Aside from athletics, he earned an academic letter for both his junior and senior years.
College Highlights:
2016: He would appear in 12 games and start 5 of those. He led the team with a 3.07 ERA and a 6-0 record in 41 innings pitched. In 2 starts against Coe he would pitch 14 innings allowing only 10 hits and 1 run while striking out 10. He was named 1st team all conference.
2015: He made three varsity appearances and worked a total of 6.2 innings. He pitched a season-high 4.2 innings at Coe College on March 31 where he allowed four runs on six hits to go along with a pair of strikeouts.
2014: Made eight appearances, including five starts. He pitched a career-high 21.1 innings and posted a 3.80 ERA while going 1-1 overall. Earned his second career win on March 26 against Lawrence when we went 2.2 innings, allowed only two hits and struck out three. He then went a season-high 5.1 innings against Coe College on April 1, allowing just two runs on three hits in a 5-2 loss. Against Dubuque on April 19 he struck out a career-high four in four innings while getting a no-decision.
2013: Played most of his freshman year on the junior varsity team. Appeared in two varsity games (both starts) and went 1-0 with a 0.82 ERA over 11 innings of work. He made his collegiate debut at Coe College on April 23 and pitched a complete-game four-hitter, allowing just one run as BVU won 10-1. He followed that up a week later against the same Kohawks and went four innings, allowing just a run on three hits while striking out one but got a no-decision.
He also played one season as a member of the Beaver football team as a freshman.
